Hey Victor,

thomas

today’s Friday Philosophy comes from Pacific Northwest author, Sherman Alexie. It’s from one of the short stories in his book Ten Little Indians. It’s a great quote:

How can you live a special life without constantly interrogating it?

-Sherman Alexie

Today’s Friday Philosophy comes from the best selling book Clients for Life by Jagdish Sheth and Andrew Sobel and I choose to see it as a formula for marketing success with your ad agency partner.

Insight X Collaborative Relationship = Client Value.

..and I’d submit to you, that value is not only for client but for agency as well.  In this scenario, everybody wins.

Have a great weekend.

Another great thinker died last week  Russell Ackoff

“All of our social problems arise out of doing the wrong thing righter. The more efficient you are at doing the wrong thing, the wronger you become. It is much better to do the right thing wronger than the wrong thing righter! If you do the right thing wrong and correct it, you get better!”

Russell Ackoff obit in WSJ.

A great old school building burned last week in my town.  It happened while renovations were taking place.

Today’s Friday Philosophy was a quote that was etched into the granite above the front doors and I’d often see it going through town–as did every student who’s walked through those doors since 1903.  I’ve always loved this quote.  I hope they save the stone it’s etched into–no matter what happens to this grand old building.

Since the school’s fate is now unknown, this saying has shown up everywhere around town in tribute to all who love this school and as a reminder of its final and best lesson.  Enjoy the quote.  It’s a good one

This week’s Friday Philosophy comes from an industry thought leader in New Media, Ann Friedberg, who unfortunately succumbed to cancer two weeks ago at the age of 57.  Yeah, cancer sucks.  A brilliant mind and well respected woman.

“How the world is framed may be as important as what is contained within that frame.”

-Anne Friedberg
