just for fun

I’ve been reading Seth Godin’s new book, Linchpin.

His blog post today came right from the book and was about how busy doesn’t mean productive. I have to say, I agree with him 100%.  So I’ve really tried to be disciplined about when I’m on these sites.

“I’d like to posit that for idea workers, misusing Twitter, Facebook and various forms of digital networking are the ultimate expression of procrastination. You can be busy, very busy, forever [but] busy does not equal important. Measured doesn’t mean mattered.”

But I had to laugh at the   s of the article and the invitation to share it on Facebook!
I guess we’re all hypocrites in one way or another.

Not sure how I found this. How do we find anything on the interwebs these days, we stumble along.
But I thought it made for a good Friday Philosophy post. If you enjoyed it, check out Toothpaste for Dinner.

Adverspew is a great blog.  It reminds me of Icanhascheezburger’s reason for being:  To make people smile for 5 minutes a day.  Ernie’s posts make me smile.  Not sure if that was his intent but it’s his outcome with me everytime there’s a new post.

In his most recent post, I have to admit to his love of #18, and #8, and #13 and it’s a secret wish of mine to start an agency that just does # 11 (but only if I get to lay down all the drum tracks).  #31 makes me chuckle in my belly.  I have to disagree with #32 because I don’t drink the stuff–give me a Mexican Coke any day (made with sugar not high fructose corn syrup).

And if I were adding to the list on the 33 things I’d add that I love old dogs walking down the street with patient people caretakers who both smile at you as you go by.

So thanks, Ernie, for giving me a little light in my days.  You rock.
